Write the Vision Habukkuk 2:2 NCV

Be Still and Listen
Many years ago I was asked the question "If you are not listening to God, to whom are you listening?"
Since then, as part of my spiritual journey, I have used a journal to connect with God, to deepen my faith life, and expand the breadth of my spirituality. When I journal, it’s a two part process:
Part one is me talking with God and it’s written in conversational tone
Part two is when I get still and listen and literally allow God to speak to me thru the pen and paper
From my journaling, I receive awe inspiring messages of hope and encouragement, I am provided with clarity in perspectives, plus receive guidance and affirmations. Psalm 32:8 says “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will counsel you and watch over you.” The truth of this message has become clearly evident over the years. Some of my journal writings become articles on FaithWriters.com. In 2006 I kept receiving a series of recurring messages on "Be Still, Listen, Trust, and Hope". Walk-Write
One particular theme God keeps leading me to is "Walk-Write" - the answer I receive when I ask "What is my purpose?" Without a sense of order, life would be chaotic so I use my organizational strengths and diffuse confusion.
Years ago I thought my purpose was to be everything to everyone however this mindset caused me to self-efface in the process which led to unwanted stress and burnout. I have since been enlightened to God's view of my purpose.
Based on journal writings of when I get still and allow God's voice to be heard, my purpose is to "Walk-Write" which I translate as two directives:
Walk is about taking care of my physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs by making healthy
food choices and to exercise, expand my intellectual knowledge, exhibit emotional maturity, and
continually grow in my faith as I walk with Christ.
Write is to share the messages of how a person can rise above the ashes of adversity and still
emerge not just as a survivor but one who has thrived in spite of life's difficulties. Writing is more than
just about writing books, it signifies finding and allowing my authentic voice to finally be heard, plus
creating presentations and workshop topics to share my stories as a motivational speaker and be an
encourager. It is the passage from Habukkuk 2:2 that keeps me focused: Write the vision!
